Health Care Reform
It finally happened. Health Care reform passed. I can’t believe it.
Anyone who knows me, or has read up on my blog, I’ve been unemployed for a while now… and I have no insurance. Of course, I’m not the only one – there are millions of people in my situation.
I know the bill that was passed isn’t perfect, but it’s about damn time America did something about the awful health care system we have here.
I find it say so many people were against the reform, most of them Republicans. One of the main things people seemed to hate about the bill is the possibility of a public option, and I don’t understand it. It seemed all the arguments against the public option was about not having government run health care – or that people should go for Medicaid. Well one, both Medicare and Medicaid are government run, so what the hell? And two, Medicaid is just as screwed up as everything else, and it’s fucking hard to qualify for.
Many of the concerns and irrational arguments involved claiming President Obama was a socialist. I can’t believe how ridiculous some people are. *cough* Beck, Limbaugh, all of Faux Fox News *cough*
Anyway, I’m just so happy it passed. Maybe now I’ll have a small chance of getting care I need, and not having to feel ashamed of being an American. The thought of people actually claiming helping their fellow Americans is socialist just fucking blows my mind.
